About Me

I am a graduate of Calvin University. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education with a major in Spanish and a Bilingual Education minor. After graduation, I taught with Teach For America in the Rio Grande Valley in the upper elementary grades. I worked with all kinds of students-bilingual/ESL, gifted and talented, and special needs, during my experience there. After my time there, I worked at a small missions school for a year on the edge of the Amazon in Ecuador. I returned to the States and worked as a substitute teacher and then paraprofessional as a support for children with IEPs and ELL students. Over the past 7 years, I have lived and worked in Ecuador doing everything from 1:1 tutoring to homeschool coach for virtual school, private English teacher to English teacher at a local state university. I have also taught private Spanish classes. I have returned to the States and back in the classroom as a para again. I am passionate about seeing students succeed and BELIEVE in themselves and serving those who need it most. I enjoy using my love for learning and languages to make subjects come alive. In my spare time, I like to read, run, and spend time with my family.
