About Me
I have a diverse background of experience in teaching and leadership across secondary and higher education. Upon completing my Bachelor's degree, I worked as an undergraduate admissions recruiter, and then an Academic Advisor for teacher education programs. Post completion of my Master's degree, I had the opportunity to teach high school ELA at a charter school in New Jersey, before transitioning to a community college in 2018.Since then, I have worked with students in both student services and the classroom. As a leader in the Enrollment, I supervised and supported a staff of Enrollment Advisors who guided students through the entirety of the enrollment process (admissions, financial aid, residency, transcripts/records, and graduation). Now, as a faculty member, I am privileged to assist beginning college students with developing academic reading and writing skills through Freshman Composition coursework. In addition to these roles, I have also made the decision to return to graduate school and focus on completing a Doctorate of Education (Ed.D.) in Curriculum & Instruction. Some of my research interests include male literacy, masculinity in schools, increasing achievement for first-generation students, and English/language arts teacher preparation.
