About Me

I am a graduate from IUPUI with a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Math Teaching. I have a certified teaching license to teach 5th-12th grade math. Since graduating in 2019, I have had 2 years of experience being a middle school math teacher in Indianapolis. I have taught 7th grade math, 8th grade math, and Algebra. I absolutely loved being a classroom teacher, but I recently moved to Virginia, and I saw this as a great opportunity to be able to shift careers and put my focus towards helping students in a more personalized setting. My favorite part about being a teacher was building relationships with each of my students, and getting to see how much they grow in their math skills over the course of a school year. I think that my strengths as a classroom teacher will correlate well with being a tutor. Although I am licensed to tutor a wide variety of math subjects, I am most passionate about teaching middle school math. I believe that if you can get a good understanding of math in middle school, it lays a great foundation to understanding math once you get to high school.
