About Me

I am a magna cum laude graduate of Shepherd College (now Shepherd University), holding a Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Education, Music K-12. Since graduation, I have taught in a variety of educational settings, including public and private schools, homeschool co-ops, tutoring, online teaching, and as an online ESL teacher for students in Korea. These opportunities have afforded me the ability to teach a wide range of students (elementary - adult), a wide range of subjects, and to develop strategies to teach and coach in each area successfully. I am passionate about education and fostering students who both love learning and become independent, life-long learners. Each student is uniquely gifted with talents and abilities and deserves to have the best possible learning experiences to foster development and achieve success. I am honored when I am able to be a part of that growth! In my spare time, I enjoy outdoor activities. Traveling in combination with camping rank at the top of my list! I have traveled cross country exploring many national parks and have visited 43/50 states, as well as Mexico, Canada, Haiti, Israel, and the Caribbean. Photography is how I capture "heart memories." I also enjoy kayaking, hiking, walking my dogs, time relaxing at the beach or river, and time spent in a hammock reading a good book!
