About Me

I have a Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering and worked with math daily in my career. After starting my family I got involved in assessment test development in Math and Science. I began tutoring Elementary Math through Algebra 2 about 4 years ago and found I really enjoyed helping clarify sticking points for students. Everyone needs a little one-on-one boost at times to get them over a hurdle, and too often that hurdle can discourage students from pursuing their dreams. My true passion is tutoring Algebra because I believe it is so foundational in Math coursework and too many students just "get through" and struggle in the next class. With the right coaching I think it can really make sense and build a strong foundation for future topics. In my spare time I enjoy reading, boating, and walking or running on the awesome trails in the Pacific Northwest.
