About Me
I am a graduate of Kenyon College, where I received my Bachelor of Arts in English with an emphasis on Creative Writing. I was also accepted to study Modernist Literature at King's College London, and will be beginning King's College Londons Modern Literature and Culture MA program next year. During my time interning at Poets House in Manhattan, I gained valuable teaching experience helping visiting students both to read and write poetry. Currently, I am working as a music blogger for Envert Entertainment, and have articles published regularly on the site. If you would like to read some of my writing for reference you can click here. I am most passionate about English, Literature, and Writing. I am passionate about the power of literature to help shape young readers' lives, and I bring this passion to my hands-on tutoring style. I will be an especially useful resource for struggling students who are preparing for their Standardized Tests, as I am well equipped to improve their scores on the Critical Reading and Writing portions of the exams. I will look over the results of my student's practice exams, and analyze their data to inform my instruction. I am a firm proponent of education, believing it to be absolutely necessary for an improved quality of life, and have grown up surrounded by strong teacher influences. I have seen first hand the differences between enriching teachers, and teachers who failed to engage me, and I know how important my enthusiasm will be to the students who I am tutoring. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, writing, playing guitar and singing, video games, and chess.
