About Me

It gives me immense pleasure to be a tutor. I find every session to be a wonderful experience filled with personal fulfillment. As such, I am eager to be your tutor and look forward to working with you. To share a little about me, I recently graduated with my Master's degree from Meharry Medical College with a concentration in Health Science. A year before, I obtained my Baccalaureate degree in Biomedical Science from the University of South Florida (USF). While obtaining both degrees, I worked as a researcher in a zoology and neuroscience lab. The projects I worked on introduced me to the notion that in research and in life, "one size, does not fit all". Rather, multiple factors play a roles in success. This is a lesson that would stick with me as I ventured into my tutoring career. My goal for students is to help them become great independent learners. We accomplish this goal by first getting to know you as a student. For instance, how do you study best? Is it with music or in a quiet space? When do you study best? Are you a visual, auditory or kinesthetic learner? After answering these questions, we will come up with measurable goals that will help boost your confidence in the material. This confidence will translate into good test scores and help you master the topic. No matter what type of student you are, we will both work together to design a successful lesson plan that fits you and supports your weak areas. I look forward to helping you accomplish your learning goals.
