About Me

I am a graduate of both Florida State University and the University of Florida. In 2008, I received my Bachelor's degree in Family, Youth and Community Sciences, and in 2010, I received a Master's Degree in Social Work. Since that time, I have provided social work services to families and have worked in the administrative side of human services. As a result, I have several years of experience in business writing, presentation development, and public speaking. Throughout my educational and professional career, I have had the opportunity to provide tutoring help to peers and other students in a variety of subjects. I have worked with elementary aged students on understanding key math and literacy concepts; I have provided SAT and ACT prep to high school students. I have coached students of all ages in their writing and presentation skills. I cherish the opportunity to help a student excel and meet their goals, and I am always working to ensure that I'm flexible and am meeting my students' needs in the most efficient way possible. My favorite subjects to tutor are writing, sociology, and public speaking - however, I am also skilled in tutoring elementary and middle school mathematics, general literacy skills, SAT/ACT prep, and general business skills (such as proposal writing, computer literacy, and software skills).Above all else, I understand that everyone learns best by different methods. I value the opportunity to learn about each student I work with so that I can tailor their tutoring experience to exactly what will help them meet their academic goals. A tutoring session with me will be different for each student depending on what will work best for them. Outside of the subjects listed above, my personal interests include reading, writing, and spending time outdoors. I love working with youth and like to make learning fun, so I'm always paying attention to current trends and will incorporate these into my lessons.
