Credentials:Associate in Arts and Sciences Degree: World LanguagesEverett Community CollegeBachelor Of Arts: SpanishUniversity of IdahoExperience Tutoring/Teaching:During my time in high school I spent several hours teaching in a classroom setting to kids of various ages from Pre-K to seniors in high school in order to complete a hefty community service requirement mandated by the school board for graduation. These activities included learning through games, flashcards, group activities, solo projects, one on one interactions, as well as the entire classroom as a whole. Due to the various age groups that I have worked with I fully understand that not every student learns in the same way and as a tutor/instructor I have to adjust to their educational needs as necessary. I have had success teaching a range of subjects using numerous methods in order to ensure that the student is getting the most out of their studies. Experience with Spanish:-Began studying freshman year of high school (all four years of high school)-Worked with several ONLY Spanish speaking employees on a daily basis (2007-Present)-Spanish interpreter for a tax filing agency (Jan 2016-Present)-Spent final semester of college in Costa Rica for a study abroad program-Major: SpanishReasons for Tutoring:I have found that my love for languages has gone past the walls of the classroom and even my personal interest in using them as a profession. I believe that even knowing just enough of another foreign language is enough to broaden one's horizon and experience more of the world around them. Whether a student is taking a foreign language class as a requirement, an elective, or simply because there was no other option there is so much that can be retained from that experience. My goal is to help every student learn, understand, and appreciate the value of the subject matter that they are studying so that it can benefit them outside the classroom as it has me. I am fully confident in my knowledge and experience with the subject matter that I am able and will to be tutoring at all levels.
