About Me

After graduating from the University of Iowa with a degree in journalism and political science, I taught elementary school for two years in St. Louis with the program Teach for America. While in the classroom I received my Masters in Education from the University of Missouri, St. Louis. I now work for a STEM non-profit, combining my passion for education with my skills in public relations. My most treasured moments in the classroom happened when working individually with students, and I'm looking forward to continuing to help students learn and grow. I am most passionate about English and reading; however, I am willing and able to tutor in math and science. I am a firm believer in education of the whole child. While a correct answer is always great, learning critical thinking skills is even better. In my spare time, I exercise, read the news, and watch football.
