About Me

I am a graduate of Wheaton College where I earned a B.A. in History, Social Sciences and Education. Grateful to have grown up in St. Louis, I returned in 2008 to give back to the community as an educator. I spent two years as a classroom teacher and tutor of 6th grade students before being hired for upper school History at Westminster Christian Academy. My teaching responsibilities have included Ancient History, Western Civilization, and 20th Century World History. I have just started my sixth year as a certified educator, and I am reflecting on the changes that have taken place in my profession in recent years. With larger class sizes and an increasingly diverse student body in St. Louis area schools, individual instruction is at a premium. This is what makes tutoring such a valuable service to families. Tutoring honors and promotes the individuality that is essential to authentic learning. Though I specialize in upper school humanities, I understand the universal goals of education and have experience teaching at all levels. I look forward to helping students in a variety of contexts as they navigate the challenges before them.
