Study Skills and Organization Tutoring review by James in Scottsdale, AZ
The student scored a 92 on her quiz, but admitted that it included material from a second study sheet that she discovered later in the week and we did not cover together. This is an improvement from 84 on the first quiz. Today we covered the Second Continental Congress and Declaration of Independence, up to the Battle of Saratoga. We accomplished two of her three assignments, discussing the paragraph response orally, then putting it down in writing. The last assignment she will do on her own.

Study Skills and Organization Tutoring review by Jenny Bingling in Scottsdale, AZ
We went over all three sections of PSAT and did practice problems together, and I pointed out areas of concern or importance. Gave her studying and test taking tips and what to notice or be careful of when doing certain questions. She was challenged a little with the writing section sentence error identification and plural/singular forms, but I gave her some tips to solve those. Overall, I think it was a good session!

We worked on a chemistry lab report, and organized other assignments due this week. There were no scores necessary, no extra practice necessary, and no concerns.

Study Skills and Organization Tutoring review by Nicholas in Scottsdale, AZ
The student and I met to work on math and chemistry. We first covered homework involving systems of equations and then discussed significant figures in chemistry. I quizzed him on a few examples and how to handle sig figs. We also planned to meet the following weekend before his math test. He said one thing that gave him trouble on a previous test was definition/conceptual questions. We decided to spend extra time going over those types of questions during our next session.

Study Skills and Organization Tutoring review by Camille in Scottsdale, AZ
We discussed his organizational skills. He seems to be organizing well as he said that he has all of his papers. We worked on a quadratic equation assignment. He has a test on Wednesday. I told him that he needs to check that his answers are right. We went over how you do that. He seems to be struggling in fractions. I did not specifically leave any assignments for him to do besides equations off of the internet to practice for the test. He is very good at multiplication and dividing.

Study Skills and Organization Tutoring review by Herman in Scottsdale, AZ
The student has begun a new semester at school, so we are starting things on a fresh slate. I had him write an argumentative essay about how disappointment can be a good thing. Although he only completed about three of five paragraphs, it was a good first draft. We revised it together, and I told him to put in more effort for a second draft next week. We then went over his homework, which was mostly for social studies. He had to summarize an article from the newspaper and answer a few questions about a book he was reading on Pocahontas. We wrapped up after discussing this worksheet, and will focus on his writings for the next weeks.
