I practice student-driven meetings in which I offer resources, support, and guidance. My students maintain agency over their work in order to enhance confidence in their capabilities to master material.

In 2013, I graduated from Gonzaga University with a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations and a minor in French with a focus on Geopolitical History. Since graduation, I have been enrolled in the JD/MBA program at Willamette University College of Law, as well as Willamette's Atkinson Graduate School of Management. I have always loved helping my teammates and classmates learn and understand any issue we happen upon, from French conjugation to the economic shortfalls of the former Soviet Union. I am deeply interested in History, Literature, and Politics. Upon the completion of my graduate work, I hope to earn a commission as a JAG officer in the Armed Forces. In high school, I was a 3 sport Varsity Athlete captaining my football team freshman and senior years, as well as being a wrestler and track runner. I played Rugby for Gonzaga during my undergraduate career, and many of my hobbies today involve athletics and the outdoors such as hiking and skiing.

I am a graduate of Willamette University, where I majored in Economics and minored in History and Jazz Performance. Since graduating, I have traveled extensively throughout Europe, and spent the past year in Paris as a teaching assistant in a high school. I have experience tutoring kids and adults in a variety of tutoring centers online and in person in subjects including French, reading and writing, and math. I have also worked as a private saxophone teacher. I am most passionate about tutoring French, reading, and writing. I spend most of my spare time playing music, specifically jazz, but I also love to go rock climbing or just sit down with a good novel or book of poems.

I'm incredibly passionate about teaching history to help students better understand the world around them and think critically about both historical and contemporary events. I am a graduate student at Oregon Health & Science University obtaining my degree in Environmental Science & Engineering. I received my Bachelor of Arts from Willamette University in Biology with minors in Physics and Spanish. I have taught several basic biology and aquatic microbiology classes to middle and high schoolers, as well as mentored high school and undergraduate interns on independent research projects. Microbiology is my favorite subject to tutor, as it is always a joy to see students discover this unseen world that exists right under our nose! My teaching philosophy is to present the subject to my students in a way that places the knowledge into a context that is relevant for them and to lead them through complex concepts with real world examples. In my free time, I like being active and enjoying all that Oregon has to offer, whether it be running, swimming, hiking, or camping with my dogs and am currently training for my first triathlon!

I am a recent graduate from Willamette University, with a BA in Biology and Spanish and a minor in Chemistry. My teaching experience began as a teacher of horseback riding and horse trainer, where I learned how to work with a wide variety of learning styles. I also studied abroad in Panamawhere I researched poison dart frog behaviorand Spain, in addition to working in a bilingual English/Spanish elementary classroom. In the journey to learn Spanish myself, I have made many connections that make learning new languages more understandable and less daunting. I love working through the subtle adjustments which can make an essay powerful, and stepping through the processes of math and algebra. When not in an academic setting, I'm known as a lover of animals, books, and physical activity.

I graduated from Willamette University with a bachelor's degree in French. As an undergraduate, I developed and taught curriculum for an extracurricular French course for local middle schoolers. I emphasized beginning vocabulary and verb conjugations and integrated games, music, homework, cooking and classroom projects. I also coached fellow undergraduates in navigating French grammar, syntax and pronunciation, paying special attention to helping them develop effective time management and study methods. While I do specialize in French, I also tutor in English grammar and mechanics, essay writing and editing, and study skills and organization. I am a firm believer that organized writing is an invaluable lifeskill, regardless of academic area of interest, and love helping students realize their full writing potential for success in the classroom and beyond. I also believe students get out of their education precisely what they put into it, and strive to show them the value of dedication and hard work. I was born and raised in San Jose, CA. I moved to Portland, Oregon to obtain my Bachelor's of Arts in English at Concordia University. I have always had a strong personal mission to improve the lives of others, so I went to Willamette University, College of Law to become a lawyer. I practiced family law and estate planning for the over three years. Throughout my college years, I have tutored my fellow students as well as younger grade school students in various subjects. My main passion has revolved around literature and writing. I strongly believe that education is the key to success.

This is why, during the last three years up to the present, as a tutor I focus primarily on a welcoming environment.
