In today's lesson, the student and I reviewed his daily log for last week. We then reviewed his American government assignment and I helped him with clarifying some bits of the U.S. Constitution. We then created a plan for this week.

We worked on more math from his the student's book. We began with fractions and how to add, subtract, multiply, and divide. He also worked on some magic square math from a worksheet I provided since the ones from his book were very confusing. He re-wrote his creative story from the last session and sent it off to his principal. He worked on French as well. He is improving!

Today we focused a lot on organizational skills, especially since we are nearing the end of the school year when there tends to be a greater workload. We set up a calendar on the student's computer which will alert him a day or two before an assignment is due to remind him to start working before last minute. Afterwards we reviewed some biology to refresh on old concepts since there will be a cumulative final at the end of the term.

Student and I covered material for the rest of the week, as well as what is coming up since the end of the year is near. Her mother and I also discussed how the student has been advancing, what is expected of her and what we have accomplished. She is doing well and has improved.

The student and I reviewed the math homework he had already completed on creating positive fractions using negative exponents. He used regular ruled paper for the assignment. I think he works better with graph paper. I advised him that when he does use ruled paper for math, he should skip a line between each problem so that it's easier to see his work.
