We've had the BEST experience with VT! Our tutor has helped my middle schoolers math grades come up from a D to an A for our 8th grader. and from a D to a B for my 6th grader. I'm beyond pleased with how she connected with my boys.

Statistics Tutoring review by Patrick in Smyrna, GA
We covered the formulas for finding the sum of products and the sum of squares today. We also discussed correlation and how to calculate 'r' values, as well as the different types of correlations. We also discussed binomial probability questions and how to calculate the likely of events. Again, the student was able to do all the required math. By the end of the session she was able to complete several probability and correlation problems on her own.

The student's professor covered a whole, complicated chapter in just a couple of weeks. Today we did the test review (which was already distributed even though some of the material hasn't been covered yet). This chapter is all about r and r2, and includes manually calculating lines of best fit and their r scores.

Statistics Tutoring review by Deji in Smyrna, GA
The student is a very smart child. He passed the fourth grade math assessment test with ease. He is also passing the science assessment test and only struggles with the word problems. I believe this is where I will focus my tutoring sessions for him. I will teach him how to dissect word problems and how identify the information need to solve them.

Statistics Tutoring review by Christopher in Smyrna, GA
The student and I are still covering fractions and how to express a ratio using various forms. He needed help with the idea of the least common denominator. He prefers doing the cross-multiply method; however, I showed home some examples where this would lead to over complicating a fraction into something too large to deal with easily. This way he can understand the concept of LCD better. We also covered factors of several numbers and how they can be used for fractions. I told him to review all that we had done that day because he could use the extra practice.

Statistics Tutoring review by Samantha in Smyrna, GA
We worked on adding multiple numbers together and the commutative property. There were only a couple of times when she struggled, so next time we will work on something different. Towards the end the student wanted to do reading, so we took a break from math to read. She demonstrated solid understanding of what she was reading.
