I am a graduate from the University of Georgia with a BA in English Literature. I have previously volunteered as a tutor for young Spanish speaking students in Athens, Georgia and recently returned from a year-long ESL teaching position in South Korea. I love to read and hike, and am currently studying German in my free time.
I am currently a high school Latin teacher, but I have co-taught all levels of high school English, as well as Math I and II. I have also taught College Prep, which includes not only SAT and ACT prep but also coaching for college admissions essays.
I am currently a graduate student at the Rutgers Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences - New Brunswick/Piscataway campus. Although I am pursuing a medical career, I am a firm advocate of education. In terms of how my belief meshes with my interest in medicine, patient education should play a large part in patient care. Education leads a greater understanding of underlying health issues, causes, and risks which leads to a greater chance in patient compliance.

My name is Jonathan Daniel, and I am a dedicated pre-med student pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Biology at Georgia Tech. With over 2 years of tutoring experience, I specialize in subjects such as AP Biology, AP Chemistry, and various levels of math and science. My teaching philosophy centers on fostering a supportive learning environment where students feel empowered to ask questions and engage deeply with the material. I utilize effective study techniques, including active recall and spaced repetition, to help students not only grasp concepts but also retain them for the long term. I am passionate about helping students succeed academically and thrive in their studies, drawing from my own experiences as a student to connect with their challenges and aspirations.
I am currently a postdoctoral researcher (post-PhD) with the University of Toronto, having finished my PhD in cancer research (aging and immortality of human cancer and stem cells). I look forward to helping you with your biology studies and fostering an excitement for science and research along the way! Postdoc - University of Toronto, Canada PhD - University of Sydney, Australia BSc - University of British Columbia, Canada
I'm not tutoring or buried in my textbooks, you will either find me rock climbing at the Triangle Rock Club, playing Ultimate Frisbee, working on my car, or enjoying the great outdoors (beaches, mountains, forests--you name it, I love it). On rainy weekends I enjoy tinkering with computers and old electronics, playing Pokemon, or picking at my guitar.
I am an interdisciplinary educator with an Ed.M. from the Harvard Graduate School of Education and a B.A. from Dartmouth College. My background is primarily in integrated arts learning and museum education and I specialize in visual arts, history and art history, and object-based learning. I am a recent graduate from a masters program in biostatistics at Columbia University. I received my Bachelor of Arts in biological sciences, with a focus in neurobiology at Northwestern University. In August, I will be starting a doctoral program in biostatistics at NYU. I was a teaching assistant at Columbia University in my department and also have tutored graduate students and undergraduates privately as well. My primary areas of tutoring are math and statistics coursework in addition to math sections on standardized tests such as the GRE and GMAT. I am very passionate about helping students feel more confident and excited about math. In my spare time, I enjoy running, playing piano, and spending time with friends and family.
I am a graduate of Wesleyan University, where I received my Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with High Honors. With eight years of experience working in education, I've tutored students in math, science, history, and English, as well as helped students prepare for standardized tests. I've guided adults towards passing the US Citizenship Exam and taught English in India, where I lived for six months. Whenever I work with a student I personalize the lessons to fit their particular learning style, since I know every student is unique and having the right fit can make all the difference in making learning fun and effective. My strengths are tutoring the social sciences and humanities, as well as making math and standardized tests approachable to students that normally don't like those subjects. In my spare time I like traveling, spending time in the outdoors (climbing & backpacking), meditation, and playing soccer. Next fall I will be beginning my PhD in Education at Harvard University.
