Education has always been at the center of my life. I earned my Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering from Georgia Tech, then went on to study Mathematics at the graduate level at the University of South Florida. Later, I completed a degree in Educational Leadership, which allowed me to combine my love for teaching with strong expertise in tutoring for exams such as the PRAXIS and FTCE.I began tutoring many years ago, and it quickly became one of the great joys of my career. I truly love everything about schoollearning, teaching, and being part of the academic journey. As a high school math teacher, I taught a wide range of subjects, from Algebra to AP Calculus, and I've carried that same versatility into my tutoring work. My goal is always to break down difficult concepts into clear, understandable lessons while keeping students engaged, confident, and never overwhelmed.Beyond teaching content, I focus on building strong connections with my students. I believe that when a student feels comfortable asking questions and isn't afraid to say, "I don't understand," real learning happens. I create a relaxed, encouraging atmosphere that fosters curiosity and growth. Over time, I've also developed a wealth of test-taking strategies, which I share as needed to help students manage anxiety and approach exams with confidence. The greatest reward for me is seeing my students succeednot just in mastering the material, but in gaining confidence in themselves as learners. Many of my students have told me how much easier math feels after working together, and I'm proud to have earned nearly perfect ratings throughout my years of tutoring. At the heart of everything I do is a love of learning and a passion for helping others discover it too. Tutoring is not just my profession it's my calling, and I am grateful for every opportunity to make a difference in a student's academic journey.

I am a Teaching Fellow and graduate of Appalachian State University, where I earned my Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education in 2007. Graduating Summa Cum Laude, I also received a concentration in Spanish. After graduation, I taught third and fourth grade in North Carolina. After that, I taught second grade at A.B. Combs Leadership Magnet Elementary School, where we received the honor of the #1 Magnet School of America. I have deeply enjoyed my six years in the classroom. It's a true joy to watch students fall in love with learning!Throughout my professional experience as a teacher, I have had many opportunities to teach students with a huge range of abilities, including academically gifted, ADHD, dyslexia, and autism. My commitment to maximizing individual student performance and inspiring students' interest in learning drives each tutoring session. Although I love teaching all subject areas, developing children's written expression is a real passion of mine. Since Florida Standards expect students to explain their thinking in both reading and math, it is extremely important to excel in writing. The use of visual aides, manipulatives (tangible objects for students to use while learning), and easy-to-learn test-taking strategies are appropriate and highly effective for my students. I truly believe that making education fun and enjoyable for young students is the key to producing self-motivated learners. In my spare time, I love to be outside! I have recently moved to Florida and enjoy running, biking, swimming, and paddleboarding. My husband and I have a daughter who is now crawling, so much of my day is spent chasing after her! I also love to read and go to the library to find new books. When we have the time, our family enjoys attending sporting events, and we are excited to see a Tampa Rays game soon!

For me, teaching is not only about helping students understand a curriculum, but it is also about patience, great communication being a good listener and understanding that each students has his/her own individualized needs that must be addressed by the tutor.During my undergraduate medical school years, I was passionate about the basic medical sciences taught in the first 2 years of college. I was passionate about the molecular events that occurred at the cellular level in the human body and how those events were revealed as a sign or symptom on a patient. I found this idea to be extra ordinary and decided that my future study or scientific research would be based on basic medical sciences. It was for that reason that after I successfully passed my USMLE exams and received my ECFMG certificate, I started to seek more basic molecular science knowledge by applying to the Master of science in medical sciences (Anatomy concentration) from the University of South Florida, Morsani college of Medicine where I received my degree in 2018. During that year of study, I became more passionate about molecular sciences especially cell biology. In the summer of that year I managed to do research on cell DNA and my research that resulted in a publication. After I graduated I applied to Professional science master in Biotechnology from University of South Florida, Morsani college of Medicine. My Master in Biotechnology showed me how molecular sciences were applied in real life research & development and in other applications that served humanity like vaccines especially during hard times like the Covid-19 pandemic. During my Master in Biotechnology, I managed to have another publication based on my study on bacterial toxins. I was also required to successfully finish an internship during the summer in a research and development lab and as part of my internship I was assigned to supervise and teach university students who volunteered in the lab. Nothing made me happier than hearing positive feedback from the students whom I supervised and taught. This notion helped me realize that I have what it takes to be a good tutor. My teaching strategy is that every student is different and each student will require a different approach and to determine that approach, patience along with ideal communication and adjusting my pace depending on the students needs will always be the key.

I am a geologist with a particular interest in geophysics and thus built a strong foundation in math and physics during my undergraduate and Masters program. Currently I am in the middle of a PhD program in the School of Geosciences at the University of South Florida.I very much enjoy teaching and am fortunate to have had the opportunity to lead undergraduate classes during my graduate studies. My tutoring strengths lie in the STEM realm. Teaching keeps me aware of my strengths and weaknesses in the subjects. Not knowing the answer to a question is the chance to be humble and teach myself.Officially I am a math tutor, but am happy to discuss the applicability of math in the Earth Sciences.

I am a K-12 ESOL and 6-12 English certified teacher. I have worked with students for the past 8 years across different states and countries.I majored in Japanese at Dartmouth College with a minor in Spanish. I really love languages! I went on to get my Master's in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) at SUNY Albany.I am passionate about all learning, which is why my tutoring range is broad. My expertise happens to lie in English and ESL and anything associated with these subjects (writing, grammar, etc). I also love tutoring in my other languages like low level Spanish and Japanese.I've worked with all ages and find that each one has their own unique strengths that appeal to me as a teacher.I love working closely with students as I can adjust my teaching to fit their needs and interests. My philosophy on teaching is that you will learn a lot more if you have an element of fun or a game involved. I rarely advocate for rote memorization and prefer to focus on finding innovate ways to teach topics.

I originally graduated from a small college in Michigan named Oakland University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry. One of the requirements for the program was to take a computer programming class. During that class, I learned what I really wanted to do, which was to become a computer programmer. However, since I was close to graduating, I stayed the course and continued with Chemistry as I was employed in the field. One day I found a technical school that offered Computer Programming and started taking night classes to change my career. After getting my diploma, I went on to take online classes at the University of Phoenix to earn a Master's Degree in Computer Information Science. Since graduating, I have over 20 years experience in Information Technology working in numerous roles. One of the things that stood out at the technical school was the hands on teaching and the close-knit environment that the school offered. I hope to offer this same type of experience. Close, hands-on teaching where the student feels the instructor cares and that the instructor is knowledgeable about the subject. My goal is to help students through their studies by breaking down the subjects into smaller digestible pieces and develop a firm foundation in their academic achievements. I know how tough learning can be as I worked full time during my educational years and feel I can use my knowledge to provide a positive learning experience.
