What can a Memphis SAT course help me review?
With a test as vast as the SAT, encountering the unknown is always a possibility. If a particular question stumps you, you could apply skills such as isolating potential answers by analyzing their context and references to help you make an informed decision. Learning efficient test-taking skills can take the guesswork out of multiple-choice questions, allowing you to more confidently answer content questions that you may not be familiar with. There are three main sections in the SAT: Reading, Math, and Writing and Language, as well as an optional Essay section. You will have three hours to complete the three main core sections, with an extra 50 minutes allotted for the Essay. Here, we will take a deeper dive into the different sections of the exam.
The Reading section will challenge your comprehension and reasoning skills by asking you to answer questions about written passages. You will have 65 minutes to answer 52 questions. Your ability to adequately answer the questions in this portion of the exam hinges on your skills in identifying and evaluating arguments. Understanding the different components of strong reading comprehension skills, such as identifying context clues, critical thinking skills, and the ability to draw connections between claims made in support of an argument, will help you succeed in this section. Utilizing qualified SAT prep can help familiarize you with the structure and content of the questions asked.
The SAT Math section will test your knowledge of algebra, your ability to solve equations, and your grasp of math concepts, operations, and relations, among other things. You will be given 80 minutes to answer 58 questions ranging from multiple-choice to write-ins. In order to succeed in this section, you must be able to solve problems quickly by identifying and using efficient solutions.
In the Writing and Language section, you will have 35 minutes to answer 44 multiple-choice questions that refer to written passages. This portion of the exam tests your skills in comprehension, English communication, and critical thinking. It is important to have a firm grasp on the conventions of written English as well as an aptitude for identifying key ideas and arguments within a text.
The SAT Essay will ask you to read a passage and consider the author's use of evidence to support claims, the stylistic and persuasive elements employed, and the reasoning used to develop ideas and connect the claims and evidence. Your essay will assess the author's argument in a critical manner. You will have 50 minutes to complete your essay.

Hi! I'm Rachel. I have a pretty relaxed teaching style and adapt well to all kinds of students. I really aim for students to understand concepts rather than make great test scores. However, great test scores are a good side effect of understanding concepts better.

I believe in teaching in such a manner that I can make the subject accessible and meaningful to my students.
