About Me
I love seeing the success and improvement of my students. In college, I began working with the Chemistry Department prior to my senior year to act as a teaching assistant for a lab course in General Chemistry 2 technique. I taught for 3 semesters and enjoyed seeing the growth of my students in their critical thinking skills, knowledge of chemistry, and professionalism. I bring an excitement toward subjects, such as math and physics, that often get overlooked and labeled as "boring" or "too difficult", and I try to show my students the tangible relevance of what they are learning and the skills they develop along the way. During one semester, a student of mine could not attend my regular office hours, and I regularly worked with her on Friday afternoons to help her understands the sometimes difficult concepts of general chemistry. I didn't mind working with her outside of my normal hours because I love working with students who want to improve and succeed. Additionally, I have tutored in mathematics in multiple capacities. I was a volunteer in the math help center at UNC and aided students in introductory college algebra and trigonometry. My experiences tutoring and teaching make me a good candidate for this tutoring position, but it's my commitment to the success of my students that make me a great tutor.
