It's challenged me to articulate complicated ideas in the form of analogies that tie together abstract concepts and real world experiences. I taught mathematics in public schools for 13 years and am always excited to help students discover the patterns seemingly hidden within. I listen carefully, ask questions using words students already know, and use stories and humor to help them feel comfortable so new learning can really sink in.
