I earned a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education in 2008 from Jacksonville State University and will graduate this year with an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership from The University of Alabama. I have taught 6th grade Reading, Comprehension, and Writing for 12 years and have been a middle school administrator for the last two years. Throughout my years as an educator, I have tutored many students in all elementary subjects. My favorite subject to tutor in is English Language Arts because it is important to be able to communicate clearly with others.

I've always loved reading, writing, and languages.Regarding standardized tests: I received the highest score on the A.P English exam, a perfect score on the SAT literature exam, and a perfect score on the logic portion of the LSAT.I traveled in my youth and spent significant time in Mexico, Spain, Japan and Argentina. I like meeting new people and have great respect for people from all backgrounds.Learning is one of the best things in life. Even when it is challenging, we all feel joy and accomplishment when learning new things!

I am passionate about math and I want to share my knowledge with my students. My objective is: friendly and achievement-oriented learning environment. For the last 12 years I have been teaching finite math and calculus courses at Suffolk University (Boston MA).

For the past four years I have worked with community organizing non-profits in Ohio and, briefly, in Florida. In my spare time, I developed my own curriculum to pursue studies in International Conflict Resolution, which I will be studying this Fall at American University. I worked as a tutor during my time at Marietta, where I focused on helping those studying French and Political Science. I also worked extensively with the writing center, as writing consultant, and in our Communications Department, as a speech coach. My background has lent itself well to tutoring English, Reading, Writing, and History. I believe in working with students in a way that empowers them to build their own skills- an approach with an eye on long term sustainability and skill development. I think that it is important to be able to find fun in the learning process and I try to incorporate that in all of my sessions. My main hobby is learning, but outside of that I love to be out doors. I often go running or hiking in the area and I try to read every day. For a few weekends each year, I also act a judge for public speaking tournaments throughout the state.
