You can learn so much about a person by examining what he or she reads. My favorite book is entitled, "Mindset" by Carol S. Dweck and it is unequivocally phenomenal. In order to provide you with a brief synopsis, I will simply say that it addresses two different mindsets, one is a "fixed" mindset an...

To be the best person I can be, while pursuing my dream of medicine and education. I look forward to tutoring the future scientist of the world and hope I can make a positive impact on those I interact with. Being a mentor to as many people as possible is a life goal of mine. Whether or not science is your thing, I hope to make it a little more enjoyable.I currently am willing to tutor,Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, Physiology but not Anatomy, Microbiology and most other science related courses. I also am in school still, I attend Utah Valley University and am majored in Chemistry (emphasis Biological Chemistry) and graduated May 2018. I also currently am doing research on honey proteomics in hope to find ways to identify new proteins in honey as a means to detect species of bee and flowers based on honey samples.

I am a tutor and a teacher in the making with a strong and enthusiastic passion for education and educational growth. I believe that every student has their own unique strengths, challenges and learning styles and I love building relationships with students so that we can find strategies together that accommodate strengths but work through the challenges. I have a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and currently attend Edgewood College, a smaller and private University in Madison, WI where I am working towards my English Licensure in Secondary Education (Grades 7-12). Although I would like to ultimately teach in a middle or high school, I have a background in tutoring students as early as Kindergarten. I volunteered in a local community center and tutored Elementary aged international students in different subjects, from math to reading and writing. I have spent a lot of time volunteering in local middle schools in different literacy and reading classes, helping students to read, write and analyze texts at different grade levels and knowledge levels. Through my undergraduate career I took several writing courses and a grammar course which included a lot of proofreading, editing and discussing writing strategies. Through my different tutoring experiences I have come across many different students, all with their own personal goals and academic levels. My goal as a tutor is to morph my teaching style to work with any student in a way that works best for them, no matter what challenge they're facing or where they're at with their learning. I believe that tutoring is a collaborative effort based on communication and finding the tools and styles that work best with the students learning. Together, a student and I can build strategies and methods for their success and understanding so that they are in charge of their learning as much as I am. As a tutor, I want to be a passionate guide to reminding every student how successful they can be and tuning in to the ways that will work best to make a student the most successful.

As a trained poet and writer, I come equipped with creativity and attention to detail. I am dedicated to finding the best learning path for each of my students, and I find joy in collaborating with learners on how they best learn. My connection to math is anchored in this creative spirit--helping students see these patterns is the first step to feeling empowered as budding mathematicians.I am committed to personalizing learning for each of my students. I use diagnostic assessments to help identify areas of need and use one-on-one targeted instruction to focus on filling in these gaps. For young writers, I believe finding confidence in their natural voice gives them the courage to take risks and this is where growth occurs.

I graduated from Stanford University in 2017 with a bachelor's degree in philosophy. During the summers of 2014, 2016, and 2017 I worked for Stanford Pre-Collegiate Studies (SPCS), an academic residential camp in which students from all over the world come to the Stanford campus to take courses in subjects they're passionate about. In addition to living with and supervising the campers I assisted in teaching some of the courses. In 2014 I was teaching physics to middle schoolers; in 2016 I was teaching philosophy to high schoolers; and in 2017 I was teaching mathematical logic to high schoolers. Though I have experience teaching both the sciences (including math) and the humanities, I am more passionate about the latter, and within the humanities I am most passionate about philosophy and English. The most important thing I've learned from those two fields (and the thing I'd most want to pass on to students) is how to find the right words for thoughts - this is important, not just because it allows people to express themselves well to others, but also because it affords clarity to people regarding their own opinions and ideas. Shortly after I graduated from college I embarked on an extended trip around Europe lasting from October 2017 to May 2018. My interests include traveling, piano, and reading.

I received my Bachelor of Arts in Biological Sciences from Rutgers University in New Jersey, and I'm currently a third-year dental student pursuing a DMD degree at Rutgers School of Dental Medicine.I have experience tutoring high school, college, and older students since 2012 in different subjects including Chemistry, Biology, Algebra, Geometry, French, Arabic and Admission tests such as SAT and DAT. During my undergraduate career, I was a teaching assistant in General Chemistry and I enjoyed tutoring this subject to a large group of students in a classroom setting or online. I also enjoy teaching foreign languages including French and Arabic. I grew up learning both languages and I had a minor in French Language and Literature from Rutgers University. In addition, I have tutored several students taking admission tests like SAT and DAT (Dental Admission Test) as well as AP exams. My teaching philosophy revolves around equipping students with the skills and tools they need to learn and solve problems on their own, and master tough subjects. My main goal is to help students develop a passion for learning and a curiosity to know. Tutoring makes me very energized and I believe that passion is contagious. Therefore, I look forward to getting to know my students and finding out about their interests in order to understand their motivation. Overall, I believe that the purpose of tutoring is not simply learningbut learning how to learn. In addition to tutoring, I like riding my unicycle, camping and canoeing, travelling ( my goal is to visit 50 countries by the age of 30!), building matchstick models of famous monuments, writing short stories or simply listening to pop music and having a good time with family and close friends.
