I am a recent graduate from the University of Florida. I completed my studies in Behavioral and Cognitive Neuroscience and have minors in statistics and business administration. I am currently going on to obtain a Master in Computational Social Science at the University of Chicago. I am passionate about research, data collection, and analysis in the area of cognitive psychology. My specialties lie in Psychology and Statistics and I have a very strong mathematical foundation. I have experience working with middle school and high school aged students as a tutor through the national honor society club, which I was a member of as a high school student. I think that data science and research is important for our future, so I am motivated to help students learn and appreciate math and science as important tools.

I am a Seattle Public Schools substitute paraprofessional and Grinnell College graduate with a General Science BA with an endorsed concentration of mathematics, followed by many physics courses. I also have an Atmospheric Sciences BS from the University of Kansas and am working to complete Washington certification. My experience providing services for an area private school, as well as my course work at Western Governors University in teaching and curriculum, drives me to continue to serve an increasingly culturally and neurally diverse society. I consider myself a life-long learner and peer expert (rather than a lecturer) and want to demonstrate to as many people as possible that understanding *how* one learns is a major part of *what* one learns.

I believe in learning as the unlocking of fundamental human potential. I think that knowledge of the world as a whole allows you to be yourself more completely, to express yourself to others, and to make your developing dreams into reality.

To me, teaching provides an opportunity to motivate students to like the subject and to improve their performance through mentoring/advising. This is what inspired me to choose teaching as a career. What a nobler mission than being part of sustaining knowledge from one generation to the next!?I am a graduate of Alexandria University, with a B.Sc. in Nuclear Engineering. In addition, I received a Ph.D. degree from University at Buffalo, Chemical and Biological Engineering Department, in 2015. During that time, I have been working as a teaching assistant and a co-instructor for both undergrad and graduate students, for a broad range of subjects; including: applied mathematics, physics, chemistry, mechanics, and programming. In addition, as a part-time, I have been a private tutor for middle- and high-school students for over 5 years.Although I can tutor a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about teaching: Calculus, Algebra, Linear Algebra, Physics, and Mechanics for all ages and to all levels. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, running, and tutoring my kids!

I'm working towards a B.S. in Physics at Michigan State University with a minor in Computational Mathematics, Science, and Engineering. I've made the Chancellor's List every semester and am a member of my university's Honors College. I've worked with students as young as 11 and as old as 25 for the past couple of years, both online and in-person. Since I'm still a student myself, I can relate to clients and teach in a way that creates a comfortable and safe space. I tutor a broad range of subjects and would love to help you!

My students call me Dr. B. I have been teaching for 40 years. My job is to find a way for you to understand and apply what you are studying. What good is something if you can't use it? Because I have done this for a long time, I have many ways of explaining something to you and will use as many methods as necessary for you to understand a concept. I do not succeed unless you do.

The lifelong education of the developing human mind is vitally important to anyone with a vested interest in seeing individuals enjoy a happy, flourishing life, especially to those who are or wish to become teachers. I view studying and doing mathematical work as one of the greatest joys available to human beings in this context, and it is my role as a teacher to effectively, enthusiastically communicate the importance and beauty of math to my students as well as to foster their powers of critical and mathematical thinking. It is my professional hope that at the end of each tutoring session my students will have learned above all an abiding respect for reason: a lifelong conviction that they can understand reality and make sense of the world. However, a great teacher does much more than merely recite the content of his subject. I intend to encourage and motivate each one of my students to perform academically, at a level no less than their very best, yet there is much more to teaching than just making certain that students answer questions correctly on a test. A teacher must never lose sight of the idea that he is preparing his students to be successful no matter what endeavor they choose to pursue after graduation. Any chance I get to improve the futures of my students will be just as important to them, and to me, as learning mathematical ideas in the classroom.

I have always received my inspirations from helping other. Through teaching, volunteering, and giving. I like to actively continue to do these things. It feels amazing to be able to help others. Since a young age, I have always found myself going out of my way to help those who fell behind in class. From this, I continued onto helping younger family members and then onto college and high school students. Tutoring online is just a new journey for me, in which I look forward to.

Few things in life are more rewarding than the ability to help and serve others. This is especially true in the field of learning as by learning we progress. The ability to share knowledge is a primary means by which we can help others to progress and achieve. I have been teaching and tutoring, in some form another, for many years; whether it be work with the Boy Scouts as a youth leader, tutoring academically, or teaching airline pilots as I do today I've always found it tremendously fulfilling. That is why I wish to continue this life long endeavor by tutoring through Varsity Tutors and help others to achieve, and exceed, their academic goals as well.I'm a retired USAF pilot currently employed as an instructor pilot for the Boeing Commercial Aircraft Company. I've been instructing, both military and civilian, for over 30 years and enjoy it immensely. I've had the opportunity to work with people of many cultures and travel extensively; I've been to every continent multiple times, even Antarctica. I have two masters degrees, an MA in Information Management as well as an MS in Aeronautical Science and Aviation Safety. My undergrad degree is a BA in zoology. I'm currently awaiting acceptance to Clemson for an MS in Biology Instruction and am doing a math review leading to a certificate in Math Theory from Indiana. I recently finished a certificate in Weather Forecasting from Penn State. As I'm sure you can tell, I love to learn and consider learning a life long endeavor.
