I am a Senior Statistics major from Macalester College. I have been a tutor for 8 years, tutoring a range of Math and Statistics subjects from algebra to Probability. I am able to cater to specific student needs, and I believe everyone is capable of succeeding when giving the right support. I find it particularly accomplishing when I am able to help my students succeed.

I recently graduated from The University of California, Los Angeles, with a Master of Science degree in Geochemistry with a focus on Biogeochemical Oceanography. I received my Bachelor of Science degree from Gwynedd Mercy University in Biology with minors in Chemistry and English. My tutoring experience began in high school when I was able to help my little sister who was struggling in Math. I continued to tutor students in various Science and Math courses throughout high school and college. I worked as a Science and Math tutor in the Academic Resource Center in my University’s Library for the later three years of my undergraduate degree. During graduate school, I worked as a teacher’s assistant in several Earth Science and Climate courses. Since finishing graduate school, I have been given a position as a lecturer at Gwynedd Mercy University in Statistics, both in class and online. I tutor Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Statistics, Environmental Science and Physical Science. My favorite subjects to tutor are Biology and Biochemistry because I find it fascinating how everything on the planet, from the smallest molecule to the largest organism, is in some way connected to, and affected by, each other; I love understanding how and why those interactions work. I believe that every student is an individual who learns differently than anyone else; therefore it is my job to figure out how a student learns and then teach them the material in a way that it not only makes sense but becomes interesting. One thing that I love about tutoring is that, unlike in the classroom, I am able to work one-on-one with a student and teach the material in a way that makes sense to that individual student. Outside of academics, I love to be outdoors and travel. My favorite activities include rock climbing, sailing, horseback riding, caving, SCUBA diving and hiking.

I like to keep students involved by asking questions. I also want my students to ask me questions. Together we work together to put the ideas in the simplest terms.I enjoy activities that involve problem solving, like jigsaw puzzles. I also like baking treats, and eating them! Plus I'm a big fan of board games and trivia nights with friends.

I am a sophomore biology and behavioral neuroscience double major at Nova Southeastern University with a minor in research. I have been tutoring students for almost five years in a wide variety of subjects, and have an immense passion for gaining and sharing knowledge. I have dual admission into a four year medical program, and love to help others who are on the same path as me.
