I'm a recent graduate of New York University with a double major in Acting and Psychology. I am from Kansas City, and currently live in NYC in the East Village. I am excited to tutor students to help them find more success in subjects they may struggle in or are excited to learn more about. I first discovered my passion for teaching a few years ago when I began tutoring ACT and SAT for a tutoring company in my hometown of Frisco. Since then, I have gotten deeply involved with teaching. I have gotten to volunteer for non-profit college organizations at underserved Austin elementary schools to encourage kids to go into STEM, I have gotten to help teach for an introductory biomedical engineering laboratory class at UT, and I have been employed by UT's Engineering Student Services to tutor other students in organic chemistry for well over a year. In that time, I have found that I especially enjoy working with high school and college students. My journey as a student is far from over, so everything I teach is something that I have been right in the middle of learning recently. My favorite subject to tutor is organic chemistry. It is something I've been teaching for a long time, and it's a subject I've gotten to understand well. Other subjects I love to tutor include biology, chemistry, physics, and all math through calculus; my career path has required me to synthesize all these subjects rather well. ACT/SAT test prep is also something I enjoy teaching and is something I have experience with. I have started to offer MCAT tutoring, as it is one of the more rigorous exams I have had success with, and a skill I would love to pass on to other aspiring physicians.

I am a graduating senior from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I began tutoring in high school and continued through college. I enjoy learning and am committed to not only helping students in their courses, but also to reaching their long term schools. My experiences in these positions, and working as a kids ski instructor for a winter, provide me with a solid foundation not only as a teacher, but as a mentor and caretaker for children. I am currently a Master's Student in the University of Arizona's Teach Arizona program. I received my undergrad in Mathematics with an emphasis on probability and statistics. From 2014-2016, I worked as an Undergraduate Teaching Assistant for the Math 100 program at the U of A. I received my B.S. from Yale University, majoring in psychology (with a concentration in neuroscience) and music. While in college and in the years afterward I was a scientific researcher, working with human subjects to collect behavioral and scanning data and performing various statistical analyses, and I presented work at several scientific conferences. Last year I completed my coursework for a master's degree in Behavioral and Cognitive Neuroscience at The Graduate Center of the City University of New York, and I am currently finishing my thesis. For the past two years I was an adjunct instructor at The City College of New York, teaching statistics and introductory neuroscience, where I learned the importance of communicating complicated concepts clearly at an individualized level. All of my classes performed above average, and I discovered how satisfying it is to help people understand difficult ideas. I've found that by creating a good rapport with my students I am able to more effectively impart difficult concepts to them while causing them less stress. My passion is people, which first led me to study psychology, leading to my work in statistics, and later into teaching.In my free time I enjoy all kinds of music and culture. I read the paper or two everyday and keep involved with current events. I enjoy traveling and exploring new places, near and far. And as a native Oregonian, I especially like getting out of the city from time to time to see natural beauty.
