I am a graduate from the University of Texas at Austin with a BBA in Finance and a BS in Civil Engineering. I believe the most important thing when tutoring students is demonstrating that they can conquer the subject material at hand. My tutoring techniques are very versatile due to my experience from teaching in a classroom setting and private tutoring. In the classroom, my goal is to thoroughly cover the basics by drilling my tutees with lots of practice problems. I also try to facilitate group work, in order to stimulate critical thinking. Practice and repetition allows an individual to not only minimize mistakes, but it also gives them new insight on certain problems and on how a certain method can be applied to a different situation.Outside of academia, I have a wide range of hobbies. I like to play badminton competitively and hike though mountain trails. Instead of video games, I opt for playing board games with my friends; my favorites would be Settler's of Catan and Carcassonne. I also like to build and detail Gundam plastic models and have even founded a plastic model club in Davis to teach my techniques to others who were interested in the hobby. But what I love most is to learn new things every day. I would study scientific articles and read how scientists are finding new ways to treat certain diseases such as Alzheimer's and Schizophrenia, which I find very interesting.

I have much experience through my coursework and experiences there, having tutored students ranging from middle school to college sophomores. In addition, I have a background of experience in the classroom, having completed a semester of student teaching and over one hundred hours of in-classroom participation and observations. I received bachelors and masters degrees from the University of Michigan, where I was a graduate student instructor and machine shop trainer. Despite my choice of studies, I have often been frustrated with own my math and science class experiences, and how often I see one bad class/teacher/experience ruin a student's self-confidence or passion. I have the most experience in math and science, but I can also help out with English, introductory Spanish, or test prep. Outside of work, I play ice hockey, volunteer for Seattle's Youth Tutoring Program, read, and occasionally hike/bike/run.

Math oriented material has always been my favorite and is what I focus on. When it comes to learning math it's important to remember certain techniques and recognize when to use them.
