My academic strengths are fairly broad, with expertise in mathematics and standardized testing.A couple fun facts about myself: I'm from New Jersey and of Italian decent, so I naturally love cooking and all things pizza. My favorite childhood book is The Giver by Lois Lowry, and favorite high school class was physics (rockets, easy winner). I enjoy playing guitar and ride my bicycle on a sunny day.

I got in the PHD program in University of Hawaii at Manoa with teaching assistance position in Fall 2014. But I decided to take a break.I have been tutoring for the last two years and have tutored over 1700 hours with all ages of students. Most of the time I tutor all levels of mathematics, but I also enjoy tutoring high school physics or chemistry. I tutor Mandarin Chinese as well. I love tutoring a variety of subjects.I have found that students sometimes have a hard time understanding the concepts or sometimes they just choose not to learn the concept. But I can always find a way to help them realize that math is not a complicated subject. What they really need is a little bit of encouragement and a little bit of practicing easier questions to build their confidence in math. I am a senior at Washington University in St. Louis studying Biochemistry and Spanish, and I will start medical school this upcoming year. I feel comfortable tutoring a wide range of subjects, but am especially interested in tutoring languages, math and science. I am also enjoy tutoring test prep at both a high-school and college level (SAT, ACT and MCAT). In my spare time I enjoy rock climbing, improvisational comedy and traveling!

I recently graduated from Carnegie Mellon University with a Master of Science in Civil & Environmental Engineering. Since my undergraduate degree was in environmental sciences (and not engineering), I had to take a lot of extra math courses to get into CMU. While I was taking my prerequisite courses to get into graduate school, I worked part-time as a tutor for Upward Bound. My favorite subjects to tutor are math, physics, chemistry and biology. I firmly believe that in order for a class to be interesting, the teacher must be passionate about the subject. I'm very passionate about the natural sciences, mathematics and language. As your tutor, I hope to impart some of that passion to you. Hopefully, we have a lot to teach each other!

I recently graduated magna cum laude from Hamilton College with a B.A. in Economics and Government, and I just finished my first year at Columbia Law School this past May. I ran several student organizations at Hamilton and gained a lot of experience teaching and mentoring younger students. I really enjoy getting to know my students and I like to bring a sense of humor to my lessons to help keep them engaged. I have tutored students ranging from 3rd grade to seniors in college and I have experience tutoring a variety of subjects, but my favorite subjects to tutor are Economics, LSAT prep, Government, Essay Editing, and Public Speaking. I also find advising on college or law school admissions really rewarding. Outside of tutoring, I enjoy basketball, football, hiking and the outdoors, movies, and cooking.

I believe in creating a comfortable and relaxed environment for all students. My mentality is to make the subject matter seem easier and less anxiety inducing than when the material is introduced. Outside of academia, I work at a Boston area hospital per diem. The positions I have held there are Endoscopy Tech, OR Aid and ER patient observer. I have a strong passion for medicine and I am in the process of applying to medical school.
