I have been teaching and tutoring non-stop for the past three and a half years. I taught high school chemistry and general science, running labs, lessons, and anything else that was required. While doing that, I started teaching LSAT classes after work. Now, I'm a full time tutor, devoted to helping students score higher on tests and do better in classes. Because I've been a science teacher, I know how they think, why they do certain labs, and what they're likely to ask in tests. For LSAT, I've never worked with a student one-on-one and not raised his or her score.I love teaching, and would love to work with you!

Hello All,I am a San Francisco Bay Area native recently transplanted to the White Plains area to study the Biomedical Sciences! I have tutored students K-12 continuously since middle school, and I specialize in tutoring Math. I have helped failing students not only get passing marks but even top marks, helped B students to A's, and help A students get A+'s. I focus on helping students master their fundamentals, as well as teach the tips and tricks they need to conquer any question.

I graduated from the Johns Hopkins University in May 2014 with a B.A. in Chemistry and Biology, and I am currently a graduate student at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. My teaching experience spans several years and age groups. As a high school student, I volunteered as a teaching assistant for a middle school science class. During college, I spent six months as a GED tutor, working with adults. Later, I spent two years as an Organic Chemistry Laboratory teaching assistant. I am a friendly and outgoing person, and I really enjoy teaching and sharing my knowledge with others. I particularly like working with middle school and high school students, as I can challenge them and help them build strong foundations during some of their most important academic years!

A Beginner's Guide: Excel Tutor • +28 Subjects
I blankly stared at the black and white CT-scan at the front of the classroom. I think the brain is slightly clotted on the "Misha, come up to the board." Oh darn, I thought to myself. If there was any class I absolutely feared during the University of Pittsburgh Health Care Scholars Academy (UPHCSA), it was neuroscience. On the day our classes were assigned, I remember clasping my hands together, closing my eyes, praying, anything but neuro, anything but neuro. Little did I know that neurosurgery would become one of the subjects I love to teach.Tutoring gives me a myriad of opportunities to further my own science education. In high school, I took every opportunity to extend my knowledge beyond classroom lectures, from the national Verizon App Challenge to witnessing awe-inspiring open-heart surgeries. With the knowledge and information that I gained, at Upper St. Clair High School, I tutored at the Success Tutor Center, enlightening other students about what I learned as an inquisitive individual.More than a desire for a challenge by attending student's needs and to share my knowledge with others, tutoring fulfills my need for meeting new people, and learning about different types of people in the world. My love of science is only part of me. I am an international being. As much as I adore my background, I enjoy international environments. Six years of practicing martial arts earned me a black belt and knowledge of Korean traditions. Stemming from high school experiences at Model United Nations and Model European Union, I'm excited to get involved with University of Michigan's Model United Nations (MUNUM). I can't wait to accompany the university's TAAL dance team members as they take the stage and sweep trophies.Motivated to venture the unknown and solve meaningful challenges with students at Varsity Tutors, I am most excited to interact with individuals just as curious and determined as I am. As a tutor I am able to fully develop my many interests, fusing all the pieces of me into a well-rounded, well-educated scientist and help them do the same.

I am currently enrolled in the University of South Florida's Electrical Engineering Program pursuing my bachelors degree. I have a Pre-Engineering Associates in Arts degree from St. Petersburg College which means that most of my classes were math and science classes. I tutor math subjects ranging from basic Arithmetic all the way to Calculus I. I have experience tutoring privately and at a college campus. I love tutoring Algebra and Trigonometry because of their real world applications and although you may not see it in your everyday life, these two subjects are used in anything ranging from the computer or mobile devices you are currently using to powering your home with electricity. I strive to help students understand the material presented in a way that makes sense to the student because I know from my own experience as a student that not every teacher is able to relate the information in a way that makes sense. My passion is to help students do better and feel more confident with their studies.

I recently graduated from the University of Massachusetts with a MS in Electrical Engineering. Before that, I attended Worcester Polytechnic Institute where I obtained a BS in Electrical & Computer Engineering. I currently work for an industry-leading designer and manufacturer of integrated circuits where I deal with radio-frequency communication devices for use in a broad array of applications.I specialize in teaching the areas of math, science and also some low-level computer programming topics. I have been involved with organizing and leading many review and study groups throughout college. I am passionate about finding the right method to help the student master their subject matter. My goal, outside of just helping someone with their material, is to develop strong problem-solving skills and habits that can be applied to their future work. I think my approachable communication style as well my desire to see their understanding 'click' with a student make me a great tutor.Outside of my full-time job and tutoring I enjoy golfing, snowboarding, playing guitar and hanging with my family and friends.
