My name is Zoe Barclay, and I'm a Denison University graduate with a degree in English Creative Writing and a French minor. I bring over two years of tutoring and teaching experience, with a focus on English, writing, and beginning-level French. As a French Teaching Assistant and peer tutor, I led weekly online and in-person sessions where I helped students navigate grammar, vocabulary, and reading comprehension. I also worked as an Editorial Assistant Intern for Story Magazine, which helped me strengthen my writing, editing, and communication skills. My teaching style is student-centered. I prioritize clarity, encouragement, and adaptability to different learning styles. Whether I'm helping someone organize an essay or grasp a tricky verb tense, I aim to create a space where students feel supported and confident. I grew up in Dayton, Ohio, where I coached swimming and worked as a lifeguard. These experiences taught me to lead with patience and positivity. Outside of tutoring, I enjoy creative writing, reading, and I was a four-year member of Denison's varsity Swim and Dive Team.
