I'm currently a sophomore at the University of Tulsa pursuing a bachelor's degree in physics, with minors in math and philosophy. Helping others, especially helping them to learn and do better in school, has always been a passion of mine; in addition to working with Varsity Tutors, I work with Math Mentors teaching 3rd graders at a public school in Tulsa during the school year. I can help you with a lot of subjects, but English language arts, physics, and calculus are my best areas. My favorite subjects to tutor are physics and English; physics because I find it really satisfying to see and to show others how neatly every equation fits with the rest to explain the way things around us work, and English because I love working on writing to make it show people the ideas behind the work in a unique and interesting delivery. As such, I'm also the satire editor for my college's school newspaper, and I occasionally write and perform stand-up comedy around Tulsa. My teaching method is usually to, first, diagnose whatever you don't understand by having you narrate your work on an example, then talking through those concepts until you feel confident in them, and locking down your understanding with a few guided examples.
