As someone who has experienced both the joy and challenges of learning in diverse environments, I bring not only academic skills but also empathy, patience, and a deep passion for helping students thrive. My journey as both a learner and an educator has shaped my belief that every student deserves to feel supported, understood, and empowered.
My passion for education began at the age of two, when I attended my first school in Damascus, Syria. Despite the long commute, I looked forward to each day with enthusiasm. Those early years introduced me to Arabic, English, religion, and a strong foundation in reading and writing. Later, I continued my education in the United States, where I attended Universal School before returning to Syria.
My experience working with students includes substitute teaching at a traditional preschool and later assisting in a Montessori school during my undergraduate years. In both settings, I learned how to adapt to different learning styles, foster a nurturing environment, and help students build academic and emotional confidence. These roles confirmed that I feel most fulfilled when I'm helping others learn and grow.
I recently earned my Bachelor's degree in English from the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC), where I deepened my love for language, communication, and education. I tutor subjects such as reading, writing, grammar, and English as a Second Language (ESL), and my favorite area to support is ESL. I find it especially meaningful to help students strengthen their voice in a second languagesomething I personally relate to. Watching students become confident communicators is incredibly rewarding for me.
My tutoring style is student-centered, flexible, and encouraging. I believe in meeting students where they are and helping them move forward at their own pace. I use positive reinforcement, clear communication, and interactive strategies to keep students engaged and supported. My goal is always to build both skills and confidence.
I am truly excited to bring my background, skills, and heart to this tutoring program. I look forward to being a supportive guide for students, helping them not only succeed academically but also feel proud of who they are and what they can achieve.
