I am a graduate of McMaster University, where I received my Bachelor of Science with Honours in Medical and Biological Physics, which is really just a physics degree with medical imaging, biochemistry, and anatomy courses in the mix! I am now a graduate student at McMaster, pursuing a Master of Applied Science in the department of Civil Engineering, where I'm conducting experimental research with the goal of inventing a more sustainable way to extract lithium from groundwater. I developed a passion for teaching through my time as a science ambassador, peer mentor, and substitute high school teacher. These experiences allowed me to help other students grasp the core concepts in physics and math, in ways that I found intuitive to understand. These subject are intimidating in school, but they don't have to be! The trick to really understanding them is to learn the way to think and visualize the problems -- which is the entire basis of my teaching method. To balance my life, I spend my spare time cycling, socializing with friends or playing video games.
