I am a graduate of Indiana University Bloomington. I received a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies with a focus in diplomacy, security and governance and a Bachelor of Arts in French. This past year, I lived in Normandy, France working as an English language teaching assistant through the Teaching Assistant Program in France (TAPIF) where I worked with students ranging from 5-17 years of age. I conducted small group lessons and discussions focusing on American culture, English grammar and vocabulary, and interactive games such as Simon says and 20 questions to encourage student's practice of the English language.

I also have private tutoring experience in the English as a second language (ESL) field. While in France I tutored and babysat a young 6-year-old girl in a complete English-immersion style to improve her understanding and grasp of the English language. I also have experience tutoring a 13-year-old boy who recently moved from South Korea. We focus mainly on conversation practice and cultural immersion in order to help with the transition into American culture.

During my time at University, I also served as an ambassador to the French department and tutored beginner-intermediate students in all aspects of the French language. I am primarily focused on tutoring French and ESL in all aspects including grammar, writing, reading comprehension, and conversation practice as well as in essay revision, reading comprehension, and writing improvement in both English and French.

In my experience tutoring, the most rewarding times are when I am able to see the student build their confidence as they grasp the material. Oftentimes in language tutoring, gaining confidence is just as important as studying the vocabulary or grammar, and being able to create a safe space for the student to build that confidence is the most rewarding aspect of tutoring for me. In my spare time, I enjoy walking my dogs, watching movies, hot yoga, and watching soccer games.
