I understand the desire to both understand a topic to begin with, and to also dig deep into the topic and learn everything there is to know about it. As someone who always needs to know the "why" behind most everything that is of interest to me, I am happy to deep dive into topics and help you to understand as much as I can about the topic we are going to go over.

As someone who sometimes needs a topic explained in a different way to understand it, I am someone who loves to find the perfect way to explain a topic to a person in a way that makes the most sense to THEM. I feel like this is a disconnect many mentors/instructors have unfortunately. They focus on teaching only in the way that makes the most sense to them (The mentor/instructor), and don't take the time or effort to get to know the person they are mentoring to be able to present the topic at hand in a way that makes sense to the mentee.
