What truly inspires my passion for teaching is the opportunity to build meaningful relationships with students and witness those "aha" moments when they finally grasp a conceptit's in those moments that I see the real impact of learning and growth. I've had a lot of experience working with students, in a variety of settings and age groups. I've tutored young elementary students in the area of reading, and I've also worked with college students on writing and study skills. Each student is different, and I really enjoy figuring out what works best for them, whether it's one-on-one or in a small group setting. It's about building trust and helping them feel confident in their abilities.I graduated from Grand Canyon University with a Master's degree in Special Education, and also have a Bachelor's degree in Child and Family Development, along with an associates degree in Early Childhood Education. I tutor a variety of subjects, including reading, writing, ESL and executive functioning skills, which includes time management, organization, focus and studying skills. My approach to teaching is all about making learning feel real and relatable. I try to keep things fun, low-pressure, and flexible, focusing on what the student needs to feel successful. I like using a mix of different strategies, from visual aids to real-world examples, to keep things interesting and relevant. My goal is to help students not only do well in their subjects but also feel more confident in themselves as learners. When I'm not working with students, I love spending time with my family, gardening, kayaking, game nights and shopping. In short, I'm passionate about helping students reach their potential, and I can't wait to keep learning and growing alongside them!
