I've always had a passion for teaching stretching back to my graduate school years at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. While pursuing my Ph.D. in Cognitive Psychology and Industrial Engineering, I taught a range of undergraduate courses, including Introduction to Psychology, Statistics, Research Methods in Psychology, and Systems Thinking. I started as a teaching assistant and gradually advanced to lecturer, managing all facets of the classroom experience: developing curriculum, delivering lectures, holding office hours, and creating and grading assessments.
Over the past two decades in the corporate world, I've continued to nurture that passion through roles focused on training, coaching, and mentoring. These experiences have sharpened my ability to teach effectively one-on-one, particularly with adult learners, and to tailor instruction to diverse learning styles. They've also broadened my perspective on how research and statistics function in applied settings real-world insights I'm eager to share with students.
I'm excited about the opportunity to work with learners through Varsity Tutors and to build strong, supportive educational relationships that foster confidence and lasting understanding.
