Helping students learn and grow has always been a passion of mine. I believe education is one of the most powerful tools a person can have, and I find great joy in supporting students on their journey toward confidence and success.
I have worked with students of various ages and backgrounds, adapting my teaching methods to fit their needs. I taught MSA (Modern Standard Arabic) and Iraqi dialect for 15 years at the Defense Language Institute in Monterey, California, and served over six years with the U.S. Army overseas. These experiences strengthened my ability to engage with American students and meet diverse learning styles.
I hold a B.A. in Translation from the University of Mosul, Iraq, and a Master's Degree in Instructional Technology from Brandman University in Monterey, California.
I am certified as Diagnostic Assessment Specialist and served for five years as a Senior DA Specialist at my previous school, which strengthened my ability to identify students' strengths and weaknesses and to support and evaluate their growth effectively. I specialise in teaching Modern Standard Arabic and Iraqi dialect languages that reflect my cultural roots and I also support students in reading, writing, grammar, and speaking skills. I love helping students connect more deeply with Arabic-speaking cultures through language learning.
My teaching philosophy centres on patience, encouragement, and adaptability. I strive to create a positive, engaging environment tailored to each student's pace and style.
Outside of teaching, I enjoy reading about world politics and history and watching movies on Netflix, which brings fresh energy and creativity to my teaching approach.
