I am a recent alumnus of the University of Arizona W.A. Franke Honors College! I have just finished my Bachelors of Science degree in Biomedical Sciences with a minor in Molecular and Cellular Biology. I plan on attending graduate school at Tufts University then medical school after that! Since starting college, I have gained valuable experience helping students as a preceptor and learning assistant for STEM courses such as biochemistry, cancer biology, and general chemistry. While I can teach a wide variety of subjects, I am most passionate about biology, biochemistry, and organic chemistry. I love teaching these subjects because they're so applicable to our everyday lives, and I love how they explain the natural world around us. Teaching allows me to impart my appreciation for these subjects and in the hope that students can become passionate about them as well. My teaching philosophy is student-centric and I let each individual student dictate the approach that I take with teaching them. By doing so, I can tailor lessons to student strengths and ensure that I reach their unique levels of understanding. My tutoring style is all about student involvement and use of critical thinking. I strongly believe in giving students the tools they need to succeed on exams. To that end, I walk them through problems and challenge them to utilize crucial critical thinking skills.
As a premedical student who recently scored in the 92nd percentile on the MCAT, I believe that I can apply these same principles to helping other students achieve their MCAT score goals. I look forward to meeting and helping you along your academic journey!
