In 1978 I received a BA in chemistry with a minor in biology from Boston University. Fifty one years later I received an MSc in Structural Molecular Biology from Birkbeck College University of London. During the 51 years I was not idle. After my BA I spent a total of sixteen years in the laboratories of Stohler Isotope Chemicals and Strem Chemicals. I am intimately familiar with the day to day issues which face the chemist. My experience with teaching came later when I worked as a substitute teacher in the towns of Marblehead and Swampscott MA. I also taught a computer skills class for the elderly. In 2022 I published my book "Fun with Chemistry. Who's Afraid of Theoretical Chemistry?" My aim is to act as does nature in providing clues that help students to become independent learners. In addition to my passion for chemistry, I love playing the viola, skiing, amateur radio and experimenting with electronics.
