Hello! I'm Tanzina Afrin, and I hold a Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering from North Dakota State University (NDSU), with a focus on data science. With several years of experience in teaching, research, and industry, I bring a strong foundation in mathematics, machine learning, data science, and optimization, alongside hands-on experience in programming languages like Python, SQL, and MATLAB.

Throughout my career, I've had the pleasure of teaching and mentoring students across a wide range of subjects, from introductory industrial engineering courses to advanced topics in systems engineering, and operations research. As a Graduate Teaching Assistant at NDSU, I helped students tackle complex problems, develop critical thinking skills, and master difficult concepts by breaking them down into more manageable parts. My teaching philosophy focuses on creating an inclusive, supportive learning environment where students can confidently engage with challenging material.

In addition to my academic background, I also have industry experience as a Data Scientist, where I applied machine learning techniques to real-world challenges in transportation and logistics. This experience has equipped me with practical insights that I incorporate into my tutoring sessions, helping students understand the real-world applications of what they're learning.
