Hi! I am Virginia Pyo. I was an ESL teacher to non-native speakers for years both online and face to face. I focused on reading comprehension, speaking, vocabulary and grammar. I usually assessed my students through regular tests and quizzes and since I handled mostly young learners, I made sure that my lessons were fun and engaging! In addition I also became a part- time English tutor to freshmen students and I assisted them in their lessons about Literature.
I have a TOEIC certification and I got a score of 90. I gained 30 units in Professional Education and it is a program that allowed me to learn learning techniques and strategies.
Handling a variety of students especially young learners can be challenging that's why it is important for me to identify student's individual learning needs. I usually practice flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of diverse students and most importantly, I have strong communication and interpersonal skills to establish positive relationship to my students.
