My name is Blaise Derenze and I'm excited to be tutoring with Varsity Tutors. I received a Bachelor of Science in Data Science and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Rochester. I'm currently working as a Data scientist, and I'm looking to start a Masters in Computer Science in the Spring 2025 session. During my time at the University of Rochester, I specialized in graph algorithms, game theory, machine learning, and economic history. I was a teaching assistant for Introduction to Statistics and Intermediate Microeconomics, getting to help many students during office hours and private sessions. Statistics is my favorite subject to tutor-- it's so intuitive and there are fun examples to employ in every unit. In high school, I spent many hours tutoring ESL students for the SAT and regents exams. Being inspired by teachers, coachers, and professors has left me with a great respect for teaching as an institution and skill. I believe that someone can only say they mastered a concept when they can teach it, so I'm thrilled to be tutoring subjects I have had deep academic and professional experience in.
