My educational background includes a doctorate in Educational Psychology from Michigan State. I also have a Masters in Teaching Early Childhood Education from Oakland University and a B.A. in English Education from Michigan State. I taught high school English for two years and then started a family. I went on to earn my Master's degree and doctorate. I was a professor of Education at a college in Michigan for 15 years where I taught Education and Early Childhood Education to future teachers. For the past 5 years, I have been a tutor in a program for struggling readers in Milwaukee in K5-3rd grade. Recently, I have taken several courses to improve my understanding of methods for teaching literacy including a course on the Science of Reading and an introduction to the Wilson Reading System course. I am a passionate believer that all children can learn to be successful readers and writers and I believe I can help your child achieve that goal.
