I am a graduate of The College of Saint Benedict and Saint John's University. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in physics, with a minor in mathematics. My primary tutoring subject is physics, but I also tutor in math, the flute, and Koine Greek. My favorite subject to tutor is physics because I love to see when students fully grasp a concept. Physics can be a difficult subject to understand, so it is satisfying to help others to understand it. My tutoring style consists of working closely with the student(s) to construct a lesson plan that meets their learning goals. My role is not to be a teacher, but a guide, asking questions and challenging the student(s) to think critically about a problem. My goal is to transform a student into an independent learner, so they will have the skills necessary to figure things out on their own. I have three years of experience being a tutor. I was a math tutor for one year and a physics tutor for two. I was also a teaching assistant for some introductory physics labs as well. I want to help students because everyone should have a chance to succeed. For hobbies outside of tutoring include reading, biking, swimming, and playing video games.
