I am an education professional with over 15 years of experience working with elementary and middle school students. I have served in many roles from special education teacher to assistant principal. While I have experience teaching various subjects, my passion is working with students to improve their outcomes in reading. I have seen increased reading achievement in many students by providing interventions in foundational reading skills for students of all ages. I also have multiple years of experience serving as a specialist and interventionist to improve standardized test scores. I am currently working toward my Doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction at Sam Houston State University, and have presented my instructional methods at conferences to education colleagues statewide and nationally. I firmly believe that ALL students are capable of learning and have used this philosophy to promote high expectations of achievement for every student I have worked with. When I am not spending time with my family, I enjoy crafting, party planning, and volunteering at my local church.
