My Background
I have been an educator for over 20 years. I started as a classroom teacher and have taught children K-8 in a variety of settings. I have also spent time working with teachers from all over the world helping them develop reading and writing best practices in their classrooms. I look forward to sharing my expertise as a Literacy Specialist with your family!

My Expertise
I have a Masters in Reading and Literacy. I have trained with literacy professionals throughout the United States. Additionally, I served for 10 years on the Board of Directors of the Illinois Reading Council and was President of IRC in 2018-2019. In 2019 I was honored to work with teachers in Guatemala during their annual reading conference. I am highly trained in reading, writing and organizational skills and strategies. Comprehension, Fluency, Decoding, Vocabulary, Analyzing Text, Grammar, Mechanics, Writing for a Purpose and Executive Function skills are my expert areas of focus. I can't wait to work with you!
