My personal statement for several years now is to "celebrate differences" of all kinds (race, country, religion, tastes, sex, personality, etc.) because it is essential to appreciate the greatness of diversity to live in a more tolerant and kind world. I am fully convinced that speaking another language is a way to celebrate differences. Communicating with people from different backgrounds always opens more doors than closing them.
