K-12, undergraduate, graduate, and adult students, welcome!
Using student-centered, culturally responsive, and critical pedagogy, I provide students with the opportunity to think critically about the subject matter, clearly and coherently express their thoughts and ideas, and formulate stellar compositions.
I ensure we're aligned on your lesson goals, meet you where you are, and work with you at a developmentally appropriate pace.
I'm a former 6-12 classroom educator and literacy specialist as well as a K-12 ELA curriculum writer and tutor. I have also successfully tutored adults, undergraduate and graduate students in French and English language subjects, facilitating writing workshops for college students at the university level. I am also a former teacher trainer and supervisor for French-speaking teachers of English and Computer Science. Last but not least, I have taught professional certification courses at Cornell University in the Human Resources and Business Administration department.
I have also provided test prep lessons (SAT, ACT, AP, TOEFL, GRE, LSAT, College Exams, etc.) with a focus on verbal, analytical reasoning and writing.
While I taught traditional K-12 courses, I experienced a lot of success with students and won Teacher of the Year twice, once for English as a Second Language Teacher of the Year. When I was a literacy specialist and English learner program manager, I led my campus to achieve high reading literacy levels and high standardized test scores. I have authored curriculum products for adult and K-12 learners. I've also led statewide and nation-wide efforts in this domain.
I am a result-driven and high-achieving individual. If you put in the effort, we will attain your learning objectives.
Currently, I run a management consulting firm and I'm a contributing writer for the Harvard Business Review. I'm in a bit of a career transition period and I'm using this time to get back in touch with my roots in education.
I look forward to potentially working with you!
