The older I get, the stronger my love of learning has become. As such, I have developed a real passion to help others develop a real love for learning. I began my education at the University of Utah and then transferred to Wayne State University where I was offered a full ride athletic scholarship to fence on their NCAA Division 1 Fencing team where we won 4 consecutive NCAA National Championships. During this time I attended Georgia State as a transient student for a summer semester. Ultimately I graduated from Wayne State with a BBA in finance. Later I went to a smaller liberal arts University, Argosy University where I got my MBA in marketing. Currently Im pursing a DBA in organizational behavior. Ultimately, my real love is Portuguese. I studied Portuguese when I was 20 and then went on to live in Brazil for 2 years where I spent most of my time never seeing a single English speaking individual. When I can home I took the Foreign Service Institute exam and scored "native". During my time at the University of Utah a took 35 hours of Portuguese studying the actual Brazilian text books used in the Brazilian public school system. I worked for a time as a translator for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints translating for their world wide broadcasts. I have an enduring love of the language and the Brazilian Culture.

My other educational passions are driven by my 40 year career in the restaurant & hospitality industry. I have an absolute passion for marketing (studying the works of prominent contributors such as Edward Bernay's), Entrepreneurship (having lead several start up ventures) and leadership/business management (a lost art in todays business, work and political world.

Im married almost 37 years now and have I have 4 wonderful children that my wife home-schooled K-12. They lead very successful lives. One owns his own multi-media marketing firm, one has culinary degree working in the restaurant industry following in her father's foot steps, one has a culinary degree, changed careers and is finishing a masters in psychology and applying for the PhD program at John's Hopkins in neural psychology. And my youngest, is a professional dancer and choreographer and professionally coaches and competes in the sport of body building.

At the end of the day I love teaching and coaching others and watching them not just succeed but actually thrive in their passionate pursuits. I look forward to working with each and every one of you and watching you thrive!
