For 7 years, I served in the public school districts of Detroit and Southfield, MI as a substitute teacher for the head start program and grades K-12. This included the subjects of Math, English, Social Studies, and more. I have my Bachelor's in Fine Arts in Industrial Design envisioning future car interiors for Lear Automotive, Inc. and designing commercial office furniture for Steelcase, Inc. Along the way, I picked up skills in Adobe CC including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Premiere which I use for my own brand of products as well. On the first day, I find it helpful to assess a student's objectives, be it for a school assignment, personal use, professional development, etc. It also helps if there are any deadlines the person needs to meet. Then, we can work together to achieve their goal. Teaching others helps to demystify what may appear to be complex in nature while passing on the experiences and knowledge that were earned by an individual to future generations. In other words, I learn in order to give back. Additionally, as an instructor, it keeps me abreast of current trends in the industry. For fun, I like playing games such as UNO, Monopoly, and Cashflow 101. I find ice skating to be a very relaxing activity.
