I'm passionate about helping students meet their academic potential. During the 16 years that I've worked as an instructional assistant in elementary schools I've taught reading, writing, math, science and social studies. I have the patience, kindness and commitment it takes when teaching children which enables me to instill confidence, self-esteem and an optimistic attitude in each student for the subject they are working in.
I work in a positive, nurturing and diligent manner to support students with varied needs to access the subjects they need improvement and practice in.
I received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Portland State University with a major in Arts and Letters, which is a fancy way of saying that I love to read and write!
In my spare time I enjoy walking my dog in the park, reading, knitting and baking all kinds of delicious treats.
